What social media management costs in 2026

Published 18 October 2026 · 5 minute read

Social media management can cost anything from under $100 to several thousand a month. The price depends mostly on three things: how many channels, how much is created from scratch, and whether someone also publishes, replies and reports. Here is what the market charges in 2026, with sources.

Marketplace freelancers

Fiverr's own 2026 cost guide for Instagram management lists three typical tiers for a single account:

PackageWhat is includedPrice per month
Basic3 to 5 posts a week, minimal strategy$40 to $120
StandardA post every day, captions, weekly Stories$150 to $350
ComprehensiveFull content creation, several posts a day$400 to $800+

The same guide gives a marketplace average of about $160 for a fixed social media management project, or $47 to $108 an hour. Source: Fiverr.

Independent freelancers and agencies

Outside marketplaces, prices rise quickly. eClincher's 2026 pricing overview puts most businesses between $300 and $5,000+ a month. Beginner freelancers charge around $300 to $800 for basic services, experienced freelancers $1,500 to $3,000+, and a boutique agency in a smaller market around $2,500 a month. For small businesses it names $500 to $2,000 a month for one or two platforms with limited posting. Source: eClincher.

LinkedIn ghostwriting

Personal LinkedIn content for founders and sales leaders is priced higher, because it has to sound like one specific person. Entry packages of 8 to 12 posts typically cost $500 to $1,500 a month, and freelance retainers for 8 posts sit around $900 to $1,300. Source: MagicPost.
